Position Description

Tool-Related assembly of mechanical components according to build instructions, bill of materials, and other specifications. Responsible for the assembly and disassembly of vehicle transmissions and associated components, installation of components and parts, mechanical work on trucks- modifying them as needed for different projects, troubleshooting and repair, performing 5S of assigned areas, moving parts from and to the warehouse and meeting quantity and quality expectations while ensuring the safety of yourself and others.

* Disassemble and assemble new or modified vehicle transmissions and associated components

* Modify (drivelines of) trucks as needed for different projects

* Use forklift to move transmissions and other components from one location to another

* Transport transmissions and related components from the facility to the warehouse and vice versa by truck

* Inspect cranes and forklifts

* Keep work area clean and organized

* Keep machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair. May examine and dismantle machinery to make necessary adjustments or repairs

* Update task request status details in a timely manner

* Perform MESH (safety) activities as required

* Inventory/database management of parts as needed

* On time completion of task requests per communicated due dates

Initial Duration: 12 months

Primary Skills Required

* General knowledge of machinery, trucks, transmissions, clutches, drivelines, etc * Good interpersonal communication skills (oral and written) * Computer skills; must be able to use standard business programs (Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook) * Able to follow written and verbal instructions * Able to learn new skills quickly. * Will need to provide own basic tools. Specialized tools and PPE will be provided by the Company. * Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs * Must be able to stand, twist, bend, squat and stoop

Primary Skills Preferred

* CDL (min class B) * Welding, fabrication, and machining skills * Measurement and inspection skills: CMM, gear checker * Truck engine troubleshooting and repair

Education Required

High School Diploma or GED

Education Preferred
