Position Description

Primary Function:
Scope of work includes evaluating and proving out manufacturing processes supporting new product design efforts. Heavy focus on identifying process parameters and assessing process capability for new materials and designs. Design for manufacturability and design to cost evaluations included in the project deliverables.

Essential Functions:
Design, develop, implement, and improve safe and environmentally responsible manufacturing processes:
-Uses MESH (Eaton Environmental, Safety and Health process), and other Eaton and industry standard practices
Design tooling utilizing 3D modeling software and drafting
Equipment selection and design
Identifying and optimizing process parameters.
Design to cost and design for manufacturing analysis (Lean/Six Sigma focus).
Applying tolerance stack ups, design standards, and GD&T to product design evaluations/reviews.
Work with suppliers and procurement team to purchase equipment, tooling, and supplies as required.
Create and maintain PPAP documents.
Apply structured problem solving tools/approach to asses product performance and process capability
Complete all assigned program activities and tasks in alignment with program/project milestones and requirements.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent 4 year degree in manufacturing/process related field.
Three (3) or more years of experience in a technical role supporting manufacturing processes or related engineering function
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred:
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Equipment and tooling design/3D modeling with detailed understand of GD&T.
Strong project and time management, organizational, and analytical skills.
Strong problem solving skills
Experience with new program development or advanced manufacturing activities.
Proficient at AIAG or equivalent tools for Measurement System Analysis, Capability Analysis, SPC, FMEA, and PPAP.
Mechanical and control knowledge applied to equipment design and troubleshooting.
Experience in Thermoplastic Tube Extrusion
Experience in Plastic Injection Molding
Experience in Plastic Welding
Experience in Composite Layup
Experience in Thermoplastic Tube Bending

Additional Information:

Limited travel may be required (30%)
