Automotive Designer

Position Description:
* Use computer-aided DESIGN (CAD) software to generate 3D solid DESIGNs and associated drawings for products, mechanisms, and/or complete components, sub-systems of vehicles.
* Prepare detail drawings and DESIGNs of simple machines, tools, jigs, gauges, fixtures and equipment used in the manufacturing, measuring, or testing process.
* Work independently with supervision.

Skills Required:
* Vehicle DESIGN background, basic understanding of products and manufacturing operations.
* Working knowledge of CAD solid modeling, assemblies, drafting and tolerancing.
* Basic knowledge of algebra, geometry, trigonometry.
* Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others. Oral and written communication.
* Analytical skills to solve moderate problems.
* Ability to evaluate basic tolerance stack-up. General understanding of geometric dimensioning test (GDTest).
* Working knowledge of data management file structures.

Experience Required:
* 1 - 3 years of relevant experience

Education Required:
* High school graduate with additional training in drafting DESIGN techniques.
