Position Description

Position Description 
o Supports the teardown and investigation of rack, column and single pinion EPS systems.
o Work with existing teardown software to record and document the results of the system teardown.
o Supports engineering activities such as design test, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment.
o Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions.
o Must have proficient soldering skills and good eyesight/hand-eye coordination for detailed visual inspections and creating quality solder bonds.
o Conducts engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work.
o Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Assists in the design, construction, test, and checkout of test equipment.
o Setup and conduct product tests per technical specifications.
o Record test results and write final reports.
o Responsibility as the main support for the stacker system that is used to archive all EPS test samples.
o Ability to understand and read technical specifications.
o Responsibilities regularly require lifting test parts to shoulder level (~40 lbs).
o Effectively work with others. o Has working knowledge of MS Word and Excel software fundamentals.
o Good oral and written communication skills.
o Has analytical ability to aid in the resolution of complex problems.
o Candidate must have a good general mechanical automotive aptitude.
o Formal automotive training is a plus.
o The qualified candidate should have experience working with general lab equipment including but not limited to the following equipment: Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, Multimeters, Function Generators, and Soldering Equipment

Experience Required 
o Formal automotive training is a plus.
      
Education Required 
o Associates degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred o 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
