Position Description:
A LabVIEW Programmer in the Product Lab Machine Development Group is responsible for the following major tasks: • Design of data acquisition software on validation test equipment • Machine interface programming • Major test machine software upgrades • Reprogramming of older application programs • Computer maintenance and upgrades • Networking of lab PC’s • Minor electrical hardware and machine design • Down machinery troubleshooting and repair • Update of electrical schematics using AutoCAD • Design consulting
Skills Required:
Candidate should have a working understanding of: • National Instruments data acquisition hardware • National Instruments LabVIEW, intermediate skill level beyond Basics 1 & 2. • Industrial machine control with emphasis on electrical • Industrial machine safety and risk assessments • Measurement engineering for data acquisition systems • Data acquisition theory and measurement system design • Industrial machine electrical drawings and/or schematics • PLC ladder logic • Vector and servo drive/motor technology
Skills Preferred:
Candidate should be generally familiar with: • Steering components (halfshaft, steering gear, etc.) • National wiring standards (NEC, IEC 60204-1) • Environmental conditioning (thermal) in relation to testing
Experience Required:
Candidate should exhibit the following: • Experience in project management for projects in the range of $10K to $2M • Good organization skills and attention to detail • Ability to handle many diverse and complex projects simultaneously • Good documentation and information archiving practices • Willingness to work independently or in a group and to share lessons learned with co-workers • Desire for continuous improvement of processes and procedures • Good computer skills and be proficient at using Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook as well as AutoCAD.
