Electronics Technician II
Job Description
- Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electro-mechanical circuit theory and equipment, software/firmware installation, standard industry practices, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Subject matter expert supporting internal and external customers
- Maintain all safety requirements
- Build test fixtures and maintain test software
Major Responsibilities/Activities
1. Root-cause, calibrate, repair, process, and monitor production equipment
2. Execute departmental projects with minimal supervision
3. Root-cause, trending, and process returned and non-conforming material
4. Troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems down to component level
5. Count, sort, record, move, and stock parts
6. Box, transport, and ship material (UPS/FedEx, freight, etc.)
7. Create/modify/review assembly & test procedures
8. Review and expand PCBA and system-level test coverage
9. Create/modify hardware/software test fixtures and jigs
10. Document production and service actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records
11. Other duties as required

Minimum Requirements (Include education, experience, special skills and licenses or certifications required)
- ASEE or equivalent (with min 5 years’ experience)
Essential Skills
- Skilled in the use of the electrical/electronic equipment (DMM, AC/DC power supplies, oscilloscopes)
- Skilled in the use of the mechanical tools and assembly
- Experienced in troubleshooting PCBAs and electro-mechanical systems
- Ability to interpret schematics and drawings
- Ability to solder fine pitch surface mount components
- Ability to install and verify software and firmware
- Self-starter capable of observing and solving problems using all available resources
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic work environment
- Strong interpersonal skills in areas of verbal and written communications
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Technical proficiency in computer operations (Device Manager, internet, etc.)
- Experience with small/medium sized companies/departments
- Knowledge of standard industry practices
- Knowledge of the Good Manufacturing Practices and Quality Processes
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and walk and talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- The employee must occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
