Seeking a talented SCCM System Engineer to be part of our team providing enterprise-level IT operations, engineering and maintenance support for all applications, (COTS) and internally developed packages. The SCCM engineer will be part of the Windows Application team which supports application packaging for Windows 7, Windows 10 deployments as well as maintains the user's workstation image. The Engineer will be expected to resolve deployment issues and when needed engage vendor support. Write and implement change management requests. Install and configure systems per approved change requests. Coordinate and communicate changes with the client and team members.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• Extensive knowledge and experience using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) (SCCM 2012 or higher preferred).
• 3+ years Patching and updates to servers and workstations using SCCM
• 3+ years Creating, modifying, and running compliancy queries in SCCM
• Knowledge and Use of Active Directory
• Experience using the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP) technologies and Microsoft Deployment Tool Kit (MDT) knowledge highly preferred
• Experience building and updating a computer image.
Skills Required:
• Create, validate, deploy, rollback enabled packages for COTS and custom applications in an enterprise environment through the system configuration management server.
• Complete packages in a timely manner. Packaging will consist of building silent installation packages in a MSI/MST format and performing initial installation testing on Windows 7 /10 or Windows Servers. Scripting experience will be required for packaging.
• Develop and follow procedures for testing applications prior to deployment.
• Document the customizations and changes made during the packaging process
• Check for enterprise security compliancy using SCCM and query the environment for specific software installed on systems.
• Add systems to collections.
• Create update packages for Microsoft security bulletins/hot fixes and creating packages for 3rd party software.
• Troubleshooting SCCM agents installed on clients to ensure that all systems are receiving updates and report to the central SCCM server.
• Research and perform analysis of complex system requirements & capabilities and provide solutions.
• Provides support for escalations from Help Desk and deskside support technicians for deployed applications.
• Build, update and maintain Windows workstation image.
• Perform queue management to ensure that software install requests are analyzed and properly vetted for timely deployment
• Provide reporting on open tasks on a daily and weekly basis for all team activities
Skills Preferred:
• Working knowledge of Adaptiva • Working knowledge of server upgrades
• Understanding of SCOM monitoring agent and responding/tracking to alerts
