Electrical Engineer

Electrical Applications Engineer Job Requirements: • Integral contributor to a team of highly motivated engineers in the development of electrical controller modules for advanced steering systems. • Support a Lead Electrical Application Engineer in facilitating software engineering interface to the OEM’s. • Coordinate formal release of embedded software and vehicle calibrations. • Create and release component specifications for software or electrical controllers on leading edge technologies such as rack and pinion electrical power • steering, steering column-based assist, automated driving and/or agriculture. • Interface with software project management and cross-functional teams to meet project deliverables for design, quality, reliability, and cost. • Provide input to internal teams developing DFMEA’s and system level DVP&R. • Perform bench-level evaluations on new features and software content. • Work with Nexteer prototype operations on delivery of cutting edge technologies for OEM vehicle testing. • Contribute to problem solving activities regarding complex hardware / software design challenges.

Skills Required:

• Educational focus in design/development of electrical systems in hardware and/or software. • Excellent problem-solving skills. • Proficient written and verbal communication skills. • Experience with embedded system microcontrollers. • Ability to work in a team environment. • Proficient with Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Skills Preferred:

• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Flexray) • Familiarity with basic tools that apply to CAN networks. • Familiarity with DOORS/requirements management tools. • Familiarity with Matlab and Simulink. • Functional understanding of C programming language. • Automotive engineering experience.

Experience Required:

3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
